The Transfer Portal was a one-way street when Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer took over in January. Due to Nick Saban’s retirement, Alabama’s squad had a 30-day window for player transfers, and the Tide’s roster was available for raiding by other teams.

DeBoer could only keep the players on the present squad and not replace those who left because the gateway window was closed to everyone else. This time, the Transfer Portal is reciprocal, as DeBoer and his team are actively seeking players that better match his system and ethos as well as roster enhancements.

This time around, there won’t be a large number of players leaving Alabama in search of better opportunities and greater playing time elsewhere, but plenty of individuals will still depart.
