The great receiver never felt likely to play in Philadelphia after Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Pickens had a grade 2 strain and Tomlin said that an MRI on his hamstring showed that the ailment was more serious than expected.

The Steelers will need Mike Williams, Scotty Miller, Calvin Austin III, and Van Jefferson to fill in for Pickens, who isn’t expected to play this weekend.

Additionally, defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (groin) missed practice for the second day in a row following his injury sustained during the game against Cleveland.

Montravius Adams, a defensive tackle with a knee injury, participated fully in his fourth consecutive practice since last Thursday. Pittsburgh has a short window of time before determining whether to activate him to the 53-man roster because his 21-day return window will expire next week while he is still on the reserve/injured list.
