Mike Tomlin fumes at NFL refs’ who was involved in a fight between Steelers, Eagles.
In a fit of rage, Mike Tomlin ordered an official to “get the (expletive) away from me.”
With four minutes remaining in the first quarter and the Philadelphia Eagles leading 3-0, a brawl near the home team tunnel briefly disrupted the Eagles’ 27–13 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Russell Wilson threw a short ball to Steelers running back Najee Harris, who ran it seven yards to the Philadelphia 4-yard line. Slay did not like the tight end for the Steelers. Darnell Washington threw a right cross at the helmet of the second-year player after completing his block beyond the end zone. It seems that neither the replay officials examining the play nor the referees noticed it.
Referee Alan Eck informed a pool reporter that “no punches (by the Eagles) were observed on the field.” “New York was able to review the play as well because we had flags down. The Philadelphia Eagles did not see any video footage of punches.
However, they did witness Washington acting in an unwarrantedly harsh manner. They also called out Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III for his part in the subsequent commotion, which was eventually resolved by the players on the field without the assistance of coaches or teammates from either bench.
“Yes, I’m going to come in and help my dog if I see a lot of Eagles approach and encircle him,” Austin remarked.
FOX broadcast cameras captured Tomlin rudely addressing the official his thoughts on the calls when he was being given his explanation by the down judge.
“Let them describe that sequence for me. Why should I describe it? After the game, Tomlin stated.
When asked about the kind of explanation he got, Tomin said, “Not a sufficient one.”
The drive had begun at the Philadelphia 11-yard line after the Steelers forced their second turnover in the first quarter. However, Wilson threw two incompletions as the team backed up to the edge of the red zone, and Chris Boswell scored a 37-yard field goal to level the score at three.
