Shocking highlights filled the game tonight in Brazil, as a sudden 34-29 win over Green Bay was enough to inspire Philadelphia with its first victory of those three games without For-Pro Bowl Center Jason Kelce. The contest was a gritty and determined performance in which the Eagles adapted well without one of their mainstays.
Saquon Barkley turned in the play of the game, scoring his third TD by out-running multiple defenders. He flashed his track star speed and the power that goes along with it, scoring a touchdown for Eagles en route to their win. Barkley once again showed exactly why in his display, and the ability to come up trumps when he really needs to.
It was a noble effort by the Packers, quarterbacked here by Jordan Love but they had no answers for Barkley and that high-flying Eagles attack. Yet Love had a dicey injury moment in his game as well. Here we have manual entered the key point of the match one where a moment Love goes down with what looked to be quite an injury which would take light away from such high spirited game seen in its entirety. Green Bay rookie quarterback and offensive linchpin Jordan Love’s injury severity still looms large.
It was a Brazil match-up for the NFL — drawing international eyes. The lively stadium and vocal supporters offered the perfect setting for a match that fully delivered on its promise, filled with goals galore despite dramatic periods of play.
While the Eagles celebrate a win, and one of Barkley’s many signature performances this season as well, they’re also left with knowing that Kelce will likely be missing from their strategies and game plans moving forward. On the other side, Green Bay has to be holding their collective breath until they get a positive update on Jordan Love and his recovery from this past weekend.
