Charles Leclerc Clarifies His Stance on Lewis Hamilton Following Recent Incident

Monaco, May 6, 2025 — Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has addressed the growing speculation surrounding his relationship with Lewis Hamilton following a recent on-track incident that sparked debate among fans and pundits alike.

During last weekend’s Grand Prix, tensions appeared to flare between Leclerc and Hamilton after a close battle for position led to minor contact between the two champions. The move, which many saw as aggressive but within the bounds of racing etiquette, caused a stir on social media, with some fans suggesting that the incident revealed underlying tension between the drivers.

However, speaking to reporters ahead of the upcoming race, Leclerc dismissed rumors of any personal feud and emphasized his respect for Hamilton.

> “I have huge respect for Lewis. What happened on track was just hard racing. We’re both pushing to the limit, and sometimes things get a little close. That’s part of what makes Formula 1 exciting,” Leclerc said.

Leclerc went on to explain that after reviewing the footage and speaking with his team, he did not believe Hamilton had acted unfairly.

> “When you’re racing wheel-to-wheel at over 300 km/h, things can happen in a split second. I don’t hold anything against him. We talked briefly after the race, and there’s mutual understanding.”

Hamilton has also commented on the matter, describing the incident as “just racing” and reaffirming his admiration for Leclerc’s talent and professionalism.

This clarification from both drivers should help ease the narrative of rivalry and shift the focus back to what promises to be an intense battle between top teams in the season ahead.

With both drivers in contention for crucial championship points, fans can expect more thrilling duels — but with the assurance that mutual respect remains intact.
