Alabama Crimson Tide Football Achieves Highest Team GPA in Program History During Spring 2025 Semester
The University of Alabama’s football program, renowned for its excellence on the field, has now made headlines for its remarkable academic achievement. In the Spring 2025 semester, the Alabama Crimson Tide football team recorded the highest team GPA in program history — a major milestone that underscores the program’s emphasis on academic success alongside athletic performance.
According to university officials, the football team posted an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.38, surpassing all previous academic records. This historic accomplishment reflects the hard work and commitment of student-athletes, academic advisors, and coaching staff who have prioritized educational development just as much as athletic training.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer, who took over the reins in 2024, praised the team’s achievement during a press conference. “This is a proud moment for our program,” DeBoer said. “We’ve always talked about building champions in all aspects of life — not just on the field. A total of 45 players earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the semester, with 22 student-athletes achieving a perfect 4.0. Academic support staff at Alabama have also expanded their resources, offering personalized tutoring, study halls, and time management workshops to help players succeed in the classroom.
