F1 News : Lewis Hamilton heading for Ferrari crisis as team boss quits… Read More

YLewis Hamilton’s highly anticipated move to Ferrari in the 2025 Formula 1 season is encountering significant challenges, as reports from Italy suggest a potential crisis within the team. The situation has been exacerbated by the resignation of Ferrari’s team principal, Frédéric Vasseur, leading to uncertainty and instability within the Scuderia.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, joined Ferrari with the aspiration of securing an unprecedented eighth title. However, his transition has been far from smooth. The British driver has struggled to adapt to Ferrari’s machinery, managing only a single top-five finish in Sunday races. Despite a Sprint Race victory in China, his overall performance has been underwhelming. Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has speculated that Hamilton’s ongoing difficulties might lead him to retire before his contract ends in 2026.

Tensions within the team have also surfaced. During the Miami Grand Prix, Hamilton expressed frustration over team orders that prevented him from overtaking teammate Charles Leclerc. This incident led to a radio dispute, with Hamilton reportedly telling Vasseur not to “be so sensitive.” Such interactions highlight the growing strain between Hamilton and the Ferrari leadership.

The departure of Vasseur adds another layer of complexity. While Ferrari has not officially announced a replacement, the timing of his resignation raises concerns about the team’s direction and stability. The leadership vacuum could further hinder Hamilton’s efforts to find his footing within the team.

Looking ahead, Ferrari has indicated that upgrades to their car are expected around the Imola and Spanish Grand Prix weekends. These developments may provide Hamilton with the tools needed to improve his performance. However, the combination of internal team dynamics and on-track struggles suggests that Hamilton’s tenure at Ferrari is at a critical juncture.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Ferrari to see how they navigate this period of upheaval and whether Hamilton can overcome these early challenges to achieve the success he envisioned with the Scuderia.
