In a commanding display of power hitting, No. 3 national seed Texas A&M defeated Louisiana 9–4 on Sunday night to clinch the Bryan-College Station Regional title and advance to the NCAA Super Regionals. The Aggies launched five home runs in the game, setting a new program record for most home runs in a single season with 129 .

Offensive Firepower

The Aggies broke a 1–1 tie in the fourth inning with back-to-back home runs. Freshman Caden Sorrell initiated the surge with a solo shot to right field, followed by Braden Montgomery’s three-run homer, his 27th of the season, giving Texas A&M a 5–1 lead . Hayden Schott added a solo home run in the fifth inning, and Ali Camarillo’s seventh-inning blast not only extended the lead but also set the team’s single-season home run record . In the ninth, SEC Freshman of the Year Gavin Grahovac hit his 22nd home run, establishing a new freshman single-season record for the Aggies .

Pitching Excellence

Starting pitcher Shane Sdao delivered a strong performance, allowing one run on six hits over 5⅓ innings, striking out six without issuing a walk . Louisiana’s Effort

Despite the loss, Louisiana concluded a notable season with a 42–20 record and their first appearance in a regional final since 2016 . Trey LaFleur contributed three hits, and the Ragin’ Cajuns managed to score three runs in the ninth inning, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Aggies’ lead.

Looking Ahead

With this victory, Texas A&M advances to host the Oregon Ducks in the Super Regionals, a best-of-three series starting Friday. The winner will secure a spot in the Men’s College World Series in Omaha.
