The Packers were attempting to address a problem that had been revealed during the NFC championship game the season before by picking Eric Stokes out of Georgia in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, a team insider, claims that the Packers have no chance of bringing Stokes back. Given that Valentine is expected to return next season, he was questioned in a mailbag this week about why the Packers don’t use him more than Stokes.

I think Stokes performed admirably against the Seahawks. He will never re-sign in free agency, but the Packers lack a wealth of veteran players in the absence of Bullard and Alexander.
