The Lions supporter who got into a heated argument with Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur during Thursday night’s football game is talking about what went wrong.

Fahad Yousif has a season ticket and is an ardent Lions supporter. He claims that since he was ten years old, all he could do was talk about how much he loved the Lions.

“I don’t love many things. I love my wife. I love my family and I love the Detroit Lions,” Yousif said. “I have a Lions tattoo on my leg.”

He can select one perk per season as a season ticket holder. As he has done in the past, he and his wife decided to assist in flying the American flag during the playing of the National Anthem on Thursday. He engaged in some harsh language with the other squad the last time he did that. He claims that the players cheered him on and grinned at his mocking comments. However, that was not the case on Thursday night.

Yousif remarked, “We’re about five or ten yards from the sideline just kind of looking at all the players, definitely going down, you’re done it’s over, let them know we’re going to beat you two times, once home, once here, and [LaFleur] didn’t like that.”

I’ve never participated in something similar. You know, he was giving our players the throat-slash sign while babbling at them. You’re attempting to defuse the situation. Then he confronts me,” he said.

Yousif claimed that he wasn’t anticipating such a response from the head coach and that the smack talk was all in good humor.

He claims that some Lions fans have hailed him as a hero, while others have expressed disappointment in his actions, which he said he fully understands.
